How remote AI consulting actually works (and what changes)
Remote AI consulting works the same way in-person consulting does, minus the office visit: a video call to understand the workflow, screen-shares of the actual systems involved, and a written plan delivered the same way regardless of geography. What changes is scheduling around time zones and the fact that nobody is walking the floor watching people work — everything else is the same discipline.
What stays the same
The diagnostic questions do not change because the call is on video instead of in a meeting room. What matters is seeing the actual workflow — the real WhatsApp thread, the real CRM screen, the real approval chain — and that is just as visible on a screen-share as it is standing over someone's shoulder. I run engagements this way with clients across time zones, including businesses already operating in India through my own products, and the method does not bend.
What genuinely changes
Scheduling. A useful remote engagement plans around a working overlap — a window where both sides are at their desks, not one side attending a call at midnight. For the countries I work with most, from Dubai, that overlap is either same-timezone (the Gulf) or a comfortable few hours in the morning or afternoon (UK, India), and for the US it means being deliberate about which end of the day the call happens.
What remote does not replace
A local operational presence — someone who can be in the building daily — is not something remote consulting pretends to offer, and I say that plainly rather than implying otherwise. What it replaces is the assumption that the diagnostic itself needs to happen in person. It does not; the workflow lives in the systems, not in the office.
